The watch features a stainless steel case, with the diameter reduced to a more wearable 42 millimeters compared to the larger size of the previous model. With a thickness of 15.1 millimeters, the watch weighs a total of 180 grams excluding the strap, making it suitable for everyday wear.

On the other side, the screw-in crown is equipped with double-sealed gaskets, combined with a screw-in case back design, ensuring a water resistance of up to 200 meters. The crown top is engraved with the brand logo, while both sides feature anti-slip indentations for easy adjustment by the wearer. The two buttons above and below are used to operate the chronograph function of the watch.

The iconic rider tabs on the rotating bezel of the Chronomat collection feature four bezel indicators, simplifying bezel operation while also protecting the sapphire crystal. The bezel indicators at 3 o’clock and 9 o’clock can be interchanged, just like the original version, allowing wearers to use them for either elapsed or countdown timing. The new outer ring design harmonizes seamlessly with the dial design, maintaining the essence of the rugged design of the previous model. In my opinion, Breitling has executed this transition excellently.

The copper dial is adorned with a sunray pattern, offering a striking visual effect. Among the various dial options, including the silver panda dial, I consider this copper dial to exude the most retro style. Furthermore, the black outer edge of the dial features a tachymeter scale for added functionality.

The watch features three sub-dials on the copper dial: a 30-minute chronograph counter at 3 o’clock, a 12-hour chronograph counter at 6 o’clock, and a small seconds sub-dial at 9 o’clock. Below the 12-hour counter, there is a date display window. A prominent red chronograph seconds hand, adorned with the brand logo at its tip, sits in the center, echoing the 12 o’clock marker when at rest. Both the hands and hour markers are coated with Super-LumiNova® luminescent material to ensure readability under any lighting conditions.

The watch features a transparent case back, allowing a glimpse of the intricate movement inside. However, in the images provided, the protective film covering the case back obstructs the view of the movement. For a clearer view, reference can be made to official images. The central oscillating weight of the movement is engraved with the brand name “BREITLING,” and the movement is adorned with Geneva stripes. Powering the watch is the in-house Breitling Caliber 01 movement, which is certified by the Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute (COSC). Operating at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour, the movement provides a power reserve of up to 70 hours.

The watch comes with an integrated stainless steel bracelet featuring a butterfly clasp, with the brand name and logo engraved at the top of the clasp. This distinctive bracelet, often referred to by enthusiasts as the “bullet bracelet,” is highly recognizable and offers a comfortable fit when worn.
